Hello Sailor

I used to really love the nautical theme for spring, a bit of red and white and some stripes for good measure, but this year I seem to have developed a sudden aversion to it, preferring instead to stick with shades of grey and pale pinks with some navy. A little less obvious and maybe a bit more grown up too.

I did however, have this in my wardrobe. Believe it or not, it's supposed to be a dress, but I bought it online when I was in Spain, and when it arrived, it didn't cover anywhere near enough for me to ever wear it as a dress. I decided to keep it anyway, rather than risk the Spanish postal service to get it returned and also, because I still quite liked it, and I haven't really thought about it.... until today...

T-shirt, ?
Jeans, H&M
Cardigan, H&M
Jacket, Primark
Birdcage Necklace, Accessorize (I think)

When I first pulled the t-shirt out, my first thought was "My red shoes are at home...." and then I gave it a bit more thought, and I'm actually rather pleased with the result. Although the stripes are still a little nautical, it feels a bit more "me" and a little less "look at me" than it might have done with red and white.

I'm also new to trying out colour combinations. Usually I'd stick with Black or Blue and another colour, but mixing the Navy, Grey and Pink I really liked it, and although I don't always feel very "put together" when I'm wearing several different colours, this felt right.

Anybody else finding their style evolving into something new? Love or hate the nautical theme that always seems to hit the shops around now? Anybody else decided on their own variation of a trend?

I've picked up a navy and white t shirt like this last week at a car boot sale. Love what you've done with yours here! Might rethink the nautical theme I was going to go with...x

There's no way that could ever have been a dress! It's not even that long a top. Really like it with the turned back sleeves on the blazer.

That blazer fits so well on you! I like the nautical theme. As for style evolution...meh. Still figuring that out.

You just can't go wrong with stripes can you?! I have so many blue and wte stripey tops right now it's getting a tad ridiculous, but I love yours, maybe there's room in my wardrobe for just one more...

I end up with so many 'dresses' that really can't be worn as dresses, its so annoying. I'm not even tall!
