Since You Been Gone

I'm alive, I promise. The last 2 weeks have been ridiculously hectic chez Junkie, but on the plus side I have lots to tell you and lots to show you! First up though- keeping it casual for you guessed it, another exam

T-Shirt, Zara
Skirt, DIY
Cardigan, Primark
Tights, Primark

Now you might know already, that I had rather an exciting interview last week. It was for a job that looks really exciting and I was looking forward to it. I'm pleased to say that it was very positive so needless to say, I'm a happy little fashion junkie. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to photograph my outfit on the day, but being as I was quite proud of my ensemble, I've replicated it for you all to have a look at

Dress, George @ ASDA
Jacket, Creation
Belt, Primark
Tights, Charnos via Fashion Bandit Competition

I think it was the right balance between youthful, playful and smart. I fell in love with this dress when I saw it in the summer, although a high neckline is not something I usually go for and the tights which I won in the lovely Fashion Bandit's Anniversary competition are amazingly comfy. I was slightly worried that they would be a touch on the small side, but it turns out they're perfect. I'd love to hear your take on this? Love it? Hate it? Think it was all wrong for an interview?

My interview was last Friday, and because The Guy and I were in London we'd decided to head out to the Ministry of Sound on Friday night, to let of some steam. Lucky for me, the manager there happens to be my step-uncle-4 times removed- or something. But he's lovely and treated us to a very special night of VIP treatment. I was horribly full of cold all day on Friday and almost didn't go out, but we had such a fab night, that both The Guy and I were glad we pulled ourselves together.

Aside my interview, the other major reason for being in London was a Golden Wedding Anniversary. My paternal grandparents celebrated 50 years of marriage with 21 family members, including some of our extended family, and as well as coming from all over the UK, some cam from Sicily and from France to be there.

Chaos as speeches were made to the sound of falling chairs. We're a fair rabble!
My amazing grandparents, I love them dearly, and it was a pleasure to celebrate with them.
Some of my extended family, who are like grandparents to me, and two people I see only very rarely.
A lot of laughter, amazing food (we're a foodie bunch by nature), a frightening amount of wine and a fabulous night. Well worth the trip down.

Sunday meant time to head back to uni, and back to reality. Although The Guy remained with me for a couple more days, exams beckoned and an over flowing washing basket was threatening. Unfortunately the train company was on strike meaning our 3.5-4 hour journey took us 7 hours.

Slightly dishevelled and crumpled having endured 3 trains, a coach and a some very uncomfortable seats. But my one of my favourite outfits.
And check out the necklace. Another part of the amazing prize from Fashion Bandit and a firm favourite already. It's a very me necklace, bold, chunky and unapologetic.

So a huge thank you to Fashion Bandit, Hope that you've all been having fun, and I can't wait to catch up on all of your blogs.

I've been wondering where you've been! Sounds like a busy but very fun time. Aren't your grandparents lovely?

The interview dress is just gorgeous and looks much classier than I'd expect from a supermarket purchase. Does this mean that you've got the job then, or have you not heard yet?
