A post-run Saturday Lunch: Homemade mushroom soup, cheese toastie on homemade rye bread and Orange Juice.
I'm a big love of soup, when having to feed myself (as opposed to being fed by my dad as I currently am) I eat soup probably 5 times a week. Homemade soup is my preference, but soups like Covent Garden are awesome (and great to shove in the freezer 10 packs at a time when they're on offer!) too.
Soup lovers, make yourselves known.

if i can't think what to eat i always get a carton of the covent garden mexican chipotle chicken soup. hands down, the best soup ever! xx
I've been living off soup for the past week because of my throat infection, I'm a big Campbells soup fan but I really want to have a go a making my own some day soon.
Oooh I am loving soup right now! I really need to make some
I do enjoy soup, especially with toasted cheese soldiers :) x
Soup is awesome! Yours looks delicious. I love making my own soup, though I also love Covent Garden. Glorious soups are pretty fantastic too.
I love soup. Chinese, Persian, Thai, English whatever. Bring 'em on. They are filling and tasty. I like to make it my main course rather than an appetizer. You mushroom soup looks really hearty. Would love to have the recipe :)

I've never seen the Mexican Chipotle (although I am based in a rural abys...), but definitely sounds good.
As far as tinned soups go, we always used to have Heiz when I was a kid, I still love Cream of Tomato for proper comfort food if I'm feeling under the weather. I hope your throat gets better soon, infections are no fun at all.
Go forth and make yummy soup.... then send me some!
Toasted Cheese Soldiers? They sound good!
Thank you, it really was yummy. I've never heard of Glorious before, I shall have to have a look out for them. Will they be with the fresh soups or tinned?
Soup is hands down one of my staples, I like to think of it as a food group all of its own, and like you, yes, any type pretty much! I've never heard about Persian soup though, what's the deal, where do I find it/how can I make it?
I will try and prise the recipe from my Dad (who makes pretty much everything on Chloe Likes To Eat...) for you.
There are several kinds of Persian soups. You can google Iranian food recipes and check 'em out in the appetizer section. One of my fav has to be ash-e-jow (barley soup) Sounds gross, but is pretty good. Especially on cold, chilly days. Here is the recipe link if you are interested:

I love soup, definitely one of my favourite things to make, especially when it's this cold!

I love soup as well. I'll make it with every vegetable available, especially during the cold months. I love broccoli, zucchini or mushroom soups.
Oh and btw on a totally different note: when you showed the things your bf got you from Germany it made me smile a little. My bf is from the Sauerland as well. :)

Now that sounds like something to try! I love barley, particularly pearl barley in soup, one of my fave soups is a vegetable broth with pulses in it!
DUDE, my phone read -4 degrees this morning before I got out of bed, I was not impressed, it did not help motivate me to get out of bed! Soup is exactly what's needed at lunch times though, and today will DEFINITELY be a soup day.
