All the Bare Escentuals

Queridas, Queridos, it's been a while, I know. But I return with the gift of useful information!

Mineral make up seems to be a big trend right at the moment and for good reason- it's lightweight, kind to your skin, available in a variety of product/colour ranges and looks great on. My personal favourite and the one I've been using for about a year now is the Bare Escentuals make up.

Why do I love it so much? Well there isn't a whole lot not to love. It's easy to put on, easy to take off, they have a great range of products from basic face colour to eye liners, lipstick and enhancements. The basic products can be bought in a kit for about £45 including all the brushes you need, and it all comes in one box. It's mixable- the face colours, mineral veil (kind of like a base) and warmth and blushers, enhancements, concealers even the eye shadows if you really wanted can be mixed together to create a unique colour, or something to suit a special occasion or even just to cope with your suntan.

For someone who's been suffering from bad skin for the better part of 5 years it's also somewhat refreshing to find make up that covers the things I need it too, but is oil free, light weight, made from natural products AND costs less than one months rent.

Bare Escentuals products can be purchased in European Sephora shops, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges but more conveniently from lots of beauticians. And even better was my discovery of the month. QVC (yes the TV shopping channel) actually have a really good website. I stumbled across the website when looking for a Bare Escentuals Stocklist. On the QVC website you can search for the Bare Escentuals products and although they don't sell the basic started kits, they do stock all sorts of exciting colours, eye kits, and extras including my other discovery...

SUNSCREEN. I find it difficult to use traditional suncream as it irritates my already problem skin, but the good people at Bare Escentuals have created a mineral sunscreen. At SPF 30 it's high protection, but it's in a powder form. It comes in a brush dispenser, so it's easy application and mess free, it also comes in Fair, Medium or Tan to suit your skin tone. Mine is on order, and I'm awaiting it eagerly!

If you're interested in a Bare Escentuals Starter Kit you can check out what you're getting on the website, but do search out a beautician or beauty counter where you can have a tester with a professional, as the success of this make up is dependant on getting the right shades. You can find salons and department stores that stock Bare Escentuals here.

So who else has used Bare Escentuals? What did you think? Any Top Tips?
