A little mid-weektreat as my dad’s parents were staying with
us for a couple of days. Dessert… during the week… this is quite novel as my
parents are having a bit of a health kick and we’re not really a dessert kind
of a family either…
Amaretti Biscuits
Vanilla Ice Cream
Pocket Coffee
Maraschino Cherries (soaked in Kirsch... naturally)
All made by dad, except the Pocket Coffee. For those unfamiliar, Pocket Coffee are Italian liqueur chocolates. A dark chocolate exterior, a fine wafer base and filled with very potent coffee liqueur. These are loved by pretty much everyone in my family because my aunt who lives in Sicily brings them over when she visits, but you can actually buy them here from Amazon.
Spoiled... me.. much?

Wow! I'm so impressed by your dad's cooking skills! I when I started reading this I was wondering what posh hotel/restaurant you'd had your meal in!

It is indeed, made by my Dad's fair hand!
Thanks. It was definitely tasty.
Aaah, thanks. He worked as a chef right up until him and my mum started their business, and he's a Master chef of Great Britain so it should be good...
So droooling!
The dessert looks so good! I like the sound of the pocket coffee's :) x
That is a rather impressive dessert I must say! Pocket Coffees look amazing, I wish I had spied some when I was in Italy.
Me too actually, wish there were still some left!
They are seriously good, but quite potent!
Whilst it looks great, it's actually pretty simple to make, but seriously tasty! The Pocket Coffees are brilliant, well worth a purchase from Amazon, they make great gifts too.
