A Very Big House in the Country

So bank holiday weekend, normally I hide away and try not to go anywhere because the tourists and their obnoxious children/dogs/use of pushchairs as battering rams/driving/etc drives me a bit crazy, but this year I took the long weekend as an opportunity to visit my lovely grandparents at their cottage just outside of Hay-on-Wye. It's incredibly rural, very quiet and it gave me a much needed break whilst catching up with J9ill & Roger (my grandparents) who I haven't seen for a couple of months. It's a truly beautiful place to visit, and T and I were completely spoiled to ruin with beautiful food and plentiful wine, it was exactly what I needed after a stressful couple of weeks!

Their cottage, set in the grounds of.....

This little pad....

Spoiled completely with beautiful breakfasts and the weather even allowed us to get outside

I think my liver hates me, this was a fraction of the weekends consumption

Amazing. Just amazing!

Molly, the very elderly collie they have taken on.

Perfection is probably the best word to describe this little lot. The sun shone, I got to read and buy books, I ate, I drank, I SLEPT (King Size bed... SCORE) and generally enjoyed myself.

I hope you had a similarly enjoyable bank holiday.

P.S. I have close to home guest post up HERE
