Those of you who might know my lacking girly tendencies... don't faint in shock! I, yes me, I have had eyelash extensions!
I haven't gone completely round the twist, it's just that my local beauticians had a reduced price deal- £45 instead of £85 for a full set, for one of their new members of staff to build a portfolio. So I thought I'd have a go.
The girls use Nouveau Lash extensions, the whole process took about 2 hours- trying to stay awake with my eyes shut for 2 hours- HELL! It's not in the least bit painful, and I couldn't even feel that much which surprised me too.
As you can see, I went for a very natural look, and as I have short lashes anyway, for some, the above will look like nothing at all, for me, it's a vast improvement. In hindsight, I might have upped the volume of lashes, because it's almost a tiny bit too subtle, even for me.
The other thing I wish I'd known beforehand, is that getting them wet is a bit of a no-no. You can, but apparently they last much better if you don't- no standing face on in the shower, for me, a bit inconvenient, but not the end of the world I suppose.
These babies are supposed to last around 2 weeks before they need infilling or just leaving alone- the come off as the lash the extension is attached to falls out, so the wear on the should appear in a very natural way. I'm not sure whether I'll be keeping them up yet, I think at present, my inclination is that lash extensions- certainly at their full price, would be better suited to an event, where they're applied in a more dramatic style, and you reap the benefits for a couple of weeks.
I was a bit disheartened when they seemed to start coming off a few days after application- but amazing service as ever, from the girls, who promptly offered to top them up free of charge!
Ladies who've had extensions before- any thoughts to add?

They look great! Love trying out new things like this, it's good to try everything once I think! Especially at a bargain price! :) X

Thanks- they have lasted really well now, the needed a bit of reapplication but they're doing awesomely!
Seems a wee bit pricey for an everyday thing (I am a beauty miser though - I never spend on salon treatments!) but they do look lovely and like you say, for an event I can see it being worthwhile.
Definitely too pricey for everyday, I might have discount infills, but I wouldn't go for maintaining them all the time, plus it's a touch annoying that you're not really supposed to get them wet much... showers are not as satisfying when I can't face into the jet!
